Did you know that there are more lighthouses in Southold, New York than any other Township in the United States?
These lighthouses have witnessed maritime history in the guise of clipper ships, whalers, steamers, rum runners and the Picket Patrol of World War II. Today, sailors, fishermen, pleasure boats, ferries and others still use these lighthouses as landmarks and navigation aids. Ted Webb of the East End Seaport Museum takes us on a descriptive and virtual tour.
