The History of African American Music to Modern Day presented by musician, commercial jingle writer and singer-songwriter Sheree M.C. Elder, describes various genres of music that have evolved throughout African American history until present day. Performing with Sheree’s is William T. Turpin Jr., aka “Teddy Turpin,” a self-taught musician, choir director, worship leader and songwriter. Teddy has been performing for over four decades; he favors music by Stevie Wonder and recently moved back to the East End of Long Island.
