GREENPORT, N.Y., March 6, 2023 – McKnight’s Senior Living has honored Patricia Lutzky, Peconic Landing’s Senior Vice President of Independent Living, with its 2023 Women of Distinction Hall of Honor Award. This award, judged by a national, independent panel of industry experts, recognizes top executives across the country who have made a significant impact in senior living. The recognition will be celebrated at McKnight’s awards ceremony in Chicago on Monday, May 22.
Lutzky has over 35 years of management experience in the not-for-profit field and has worked at Peconic Landing for over 25 years. She has served Peconic Landing since its inception in 1997, starting as the organization’s Community Outreach Coordinator and second-ever employee and moving her way up to Director of Member Services. In 2008, Lutzky was named Vice President of Member Services and in 2022, Senior Vice President of Independent Living. Today, she is lovingly known among the Peconic Landing team as “The General” and is widely respected by both members and team members across the community’s campus.
Lutzky’s leadership impacts a broad scope of Member Services including cultural arts programming, wellness and fitness programs, member communication, family and guest concerns, customer service, and over 30 member clubs and committees. She has also taken on countless strategic projects to help move the organization forward in a positive direction.
“Peconic Landing is truly fortunate to have a leader such as Pat Lutzky as part of our organization,” said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing. “Pat is passionate about creating a community that is full of choice and opportunity, as well as bringing opportunities to those who live beyond our campus. It is evident that Pat truly cares about others and has made it her life’s work to do so.”
Lutzky holds a master’s degree in Business Administration, a B.A. in English and Literature and an AAS in Liberal Arts. She is also a graduate of the New York Institute of Art and Design’s Interior Design program and has used her passion for interior design to become an instrumental leader in the community’s overall design and physical vision. Lutzky played an integral role in the strategic planning and design of Peconic Landing’s apartment and health center expansion in 2016, Center for Well-Being expansion in 2022, and Water’s Edge dining venue expansion currently underway in 2023. She also oversees design choices in the community center, independent living cottages and apartments, and show homes utilized by the sales and marketing team.
In addition to her many contributions to Peconic Landing, Lutzky is also a member of the Southold Town Housing Advisory Commission. As a member of the commission, she works with the town in an advisory capacity to ensure affordable housing and make recommendations to the Town Board. Lutzky was also named “Professional of the Year” by LeadingAge New York in 2014, one of three individuals across 600+ organizations statewide to be recognized for her contributions to the well-being of older adults.
“Pat’s outstanding career has undoubtedly affected thousands of lives, including Peconic Landing members and team members, their families, and many others across the East End of Long Island,” said Syron. “As the longest-standing team member at Peconic Landing and a true force to be reckoned with in the field, no one deserves to be a part of McKnight’s Hall of Honor more than Pat Lutzky.”
