Poets & Writers: Amy Award Celebration

An afternoon of poetry and music to celebrate the Amy Award, hosted by Paula Trachtman and Ed Butscher. Mercedes Reuhl, the Academy Award and Tony Award-winning actress, will read poems by Amy Rothholtz, the daughter of Ms. Trachtman, in whose memory the Amy Award was created. Music will be provided by singer, songwriter, author, and activist Sandy Rapp. Participating poets will include Ann Marie Macari, Fran Castan, and Lindsay Adkins, a recipient of the 2018 Amy Award.
The Amy Award was established in 1995 by Ms. Trachtman and Mr. Butscher, in memory of Ms. Trachtman’s daughter, Amy Rothholz, an actor and poet. Poets who are women, age 30 and under, living in the New York City metropolitan area or on Long Island are eligible to apply for the award, which is administered by Poets & Writers.
