Donnamarie Barnes, the Director of History and Heritage, will tell us about the rich history of Sylvester Manor. Since 1651, the land on Shelter Island known as Sylvester Manor has been the ancestral home of the Indigenous Manhanset people, a 17th-century provisioning plantation, a place of enslavement and a private family farm and estate.
