Peconic Landing Celebrates Active Aging Week with Free Wellness Classes & Events

Peconic Landing is proud to be an official host site for Active Aging Week, organized by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA). From October 5 to October 9, Peconic Landing will celebrate this national observance with a week of free activities aimed at promoting healthy, active living at all ages. The diverse events, open to the public, go hand in hand with Peconic Landing’s successful living philosophy, which emphasizes natural movement, connection, positive outlook, healthy eating, and brain health.

The week’s exciting schedule includes:

  • Qigong for Movement on Monday, 10/5 @ 9:30am
  • Stroll Around Campus, a Guided Walking Tour on Monday, 10/5 @ 11:00am
  • Live Music by AKM: Aiming for the Key of Music on Monday, 10/5 @ 3:00pm
  • Super Slow Stretch, for Gentle Stretching & Mobility on Tuesday, 10/6 @ 10:30am
  • Live Birds of Prey with Quogue Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday, 10/6 @ 2:00pm
  • Zumba on Wednesday, 10/7 @ 8:30am
  • Chair Yoga on Wednesday, 10/7 @ 11:00am
  • Ballroom Dance Lessons with Alexandra Binder of Blue Collar Ballroom on Wednesday, 10/7 @ 2:00pm
  • Dancing with Parkinsons on Wednesday, 10/7 @ 2:00pm
  • Latin Dance Lessons with Alexandra Binder of Blue Collar Ballroom on Wednesday, 10/7 @ 3:15pm
  • Bocce: Open Play on Thursday, 10/8 @ 1:00-3:00pm
  • “Have You Heard a Good Book Lately?” Lecture by Gerard Doyle, Award-Winning Audiobook Narrator, on Friday, 10/9 @ 7:00pm

Peconic Landing’s commitment to wellness has earned national recognition from the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA).
