Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing:
- Assumes direct management and administrative responsibility for the overall operation of the Nursing Department and facility in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Responsible for hiring, educating, evaluating, and managing, and developing staff.
- Assist in the retention and training of nurses.
- Counsels, directs, and instructs nursing staff in clinical and management concerns.
- Ensure that the legal procedures, nursing practices and work standards are met as per facility policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.
- Promotes the health system service standards and creates a member focused caring environment while assuring that the individual needs of the member are met.
- Promotes organizational performance standards and techniques in all aspects of unit leadership.
- Assesses unit activity, patient activity, and personnel resources to ensure equitable and appropriate staffing.
- Monitors unit operational performance metrics inclusive of LOS, agency and overtime costs, and vacancy turnover rates.
- Participates in activities to correct deficiencies in member care services.
- Previous experience with NYS DOH annual survey a plus.
Qualifications of the Director of Nursing:
- Experience in an Assistant Director of Nursing position.
- Must have nursing experience in Long Term Care with managerial responsibilities.
- Must possess a current NY State License as a Registered Nurse (RN) per state regulations.
- Knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations for skilled nursing.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000
