GREENPORT, N.Y., May 14, 2026 — Peconic Landing is pleased to announce the winners of the 14th Annual Veterans Day Wedding Giveback, U.S.Army Reserve Captain Jacob N. Feibusch and Emily Mae Siegel of Cutchogue, New York. The couple was selected by a panel of Peconic Landing members to win the annual contest, which provides a complimentary wedding package at Brecknock Hall to current or former military personnel in recognition of their service.

The couple was notified during a surprise reveal at Peconic Landing on May 14, with family members present in person and via Zoom.

Captain Feibusch currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Brigade HR Officer with the 2nd Brigade Headquarters, 78th Training Division in Newport, Rhode Island. In this role, he oversees critical human resources operations and coordination efforts, following prior assignments in network operations and movement control units. His service has been recognized with multiple honors, including two Army Achievement Medals: one for outstanding achievement as Weapons Range Officer in Command and one for excellence during Operation Freedom Shield in South Korea, as well as commendations for leadership and contributions across several units.

Beyond his military service, Feibusch is actively engaged in the local community, serving as a board member of the Long Island Farm Bureau and treasurer of the Long Island Oyster Growers Association. He is also the owner of Davy Jones Shellfish Company, a 20-acre oyster farm in Peconic Bay, and credits Siegel for her support in growing the business.

Feibusch and Siegel share a lifelong connection, having first met in kindergarten in Kings Park. They grew closer over the years and began their relationship in 2020 after reconnecting during college. Siegel teaches seventh grade English in the Eastport-South Manor Central School District and has been a steadfast supporter throughout their journey. She also comes from a family with deep military ties, with both her father and grandfather having served in the U.S. Army. “Her belief in me has been the pillar that keeps me afloat even in the roughest of seas,” said Feibusch.

The couple lives in Cutchogue, where they have built their life together. “The North Fork is our home,” Feibusch added. “Being a part of this community has been a dream come true for us.”

Feibusch and Siegel will wed on Sunday, November 8, 2026, in celebration of Veterans Day, to be held at Brecknock Hall. Sponsored by Peconic Landing, the giveaway is made possible through contributions from local businesses and organizations, who collectively donate an estimated $65,000 worth of time, talents, and services to create a fairy tale wedding.

“This initiative is one of the most meaningful ways we recognize those who have served our country,” said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing. “Jacob and Emily’s story is a perfect example of the dedication and partnership we’re proud to celebrate each year.”

The Veterans Day Wedding Giveback began in 2011 as an opportunity to thank Long Island’s military personnel and recognize them for their service to our country. The annual contest is open to both current and veteran service members; at least one partner must have served or be serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Winners are chosen by a panel of Peconic Landing members with military ties, who judge the contest based on the number of years served, military honors, and each couple’s personal love story.
